Automation
When software performs the remediation, the software should not be the only judge of the result.
Automation can reduce accessibility production effort, especially across large document inventories. It does not eliminate the need for human judgment around complex structure, tables, forms, reading order, meaningful alternative text, OCR quality, and other context-dependent accessibility requirements.
508 Audit can evaluate representative output from an automated remediation workflow, identify remaining issue classes, and measure the qualified human effort still required before final delivery.

Federal Section 508 engagements may be mapped to the Revised Section 508 Standards and their incorporated WCAG requirements.
ADA Title II web and mobile engagements are evaluated against WCAG 2.1 Level AA where the rule applies.
Document engagements may include PDF/UA and applicable WCAG or Section 508 requirements.
WCAG 2.2 or other standards can be included where required by contract, organizational policy, or project scope.
